Best Buy: Purchase an HDTV, get a tablet too

Best Buy is offering several deals next week for consumers looking to add a couple more screens to their lives. When consumers buy a Samsung 46-inch LED 1080p Smart 3D HDTV for $1,499.99 starting Sunday, August 21, the electronics retailer will toss in a 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Tab has a downloadable app that can control the TV, which will surely make you the envy of first-world neighborhoods everywhere. The bundle offer runs through Saturday, August 27.

For those who want a larger tube, there's another package featuring a 55-inch Samsung (UN55D6900), 16GB Galaxy Tab 10.1, and 3D Starter Kit. The starter kit contains two pairs of 3D glasses, as well as "Shrek," "Shrek 2," "Shrek The Third" in 3D Blu-ray, and mail-in vouchers from Samsung for "Megamind" and "Shrek Forever After in 3D." That's a whole lot of Shrekkin' to do.

Is it possible to piece together a better deal on your own? Of course; this is the Internet! You could say that about anything sold online these days.
However, a new generation of 3D HDTVs are just around the corner. In addition, with Black Friday only a few months away, it seems that only those who can't be patient with their wallets will find this deal truly compelling.

Best Buy is trying to sweeten the deal by offering a "60-day price drop promise" that will honor prices from any local retail competitor. Best Buy's price-matching guarantee appears to have several stipulations worth reading. The retailer is also offering three-year special financing and free delivery in this package.
Deal or no deal?
