We've often wondered if most of these Black Friday ad leaks are intentional or not, but the flood of Black Friday ads has begun. The traditional first ad to leak of the holiday season, Ace Hardware, has hit the Internet.
You'd expect the Black Friday 2011 ad for Ace Hardware to be tool-centric. You'll find a number of Craftsman products featured in the ad including a Craftsman 190-Piece SAE & Metric Mechanic's Tool Set for $99.99. In addition, those visiting Ace Hardware on Black Friday 2011 can sign up for a chance to win a Craftsman 5-drawer tool center. You can view the full ad scan here.
Black Friday is arguably the biggest retail shopping day of the year. It is the day after Thanksgiving, and retailers launch promotional sales including prices slashed to the bone for what are called Doorbusters (priced so low you would bust the door down for them, but in very limited supply).
The Internet has a similar day known as Cyber Monday, the first Monday after Thanksgiving, when many in the U.S. have their first post Thanksgiving taste of broadband. This day is becoming less relevant in terms of the actual need for people to use broadband at work, as high-speed internet spreads across the U.S., but for many it is still necessary (and businesses feel it).
Ironically, Black Friday 2009 will be forever linked to Tiger Woods. It was on that Black Friday, in the early morning hours, that Woods had a single SUV accident that began his downward spiral and eventual divorce over multiple affairs.
Black Friday 2011 season is just starting, so keep an eye out for the big deals to come (Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and more).
