Rumor has it Microsoft and Sony are planning to make a big splash on Black Friday this year! According to tomsguide.com, Microsoft is rumored to release a major dashboard update on their XBOX 360 console on November 25th. This major update includes Microsoft's Silverlight integration which will include both voice recognition and gesture control on the XBOX Kinect. Another big feature, which has been long awaited, is being able to stream TV to XBOX 360. Some of the content providers Microsoft mentioned last week include: Bravo, Comcast, HBO Go, Verizon FiOS and Syfy. With all the changes and integration, this update is probably one of the most anticipated updates in recent years.

Sony on the other hand is taking advantage of Black Friday with actual sale items being offered on November 25th. According to slashgear.com, Sony is set to release yet another Playstation 3 bundle, this time with two games (Ratchet & Clank All 4 One and Little Big Planet 2 Special Edition Version). According to this photo, the bundle will save consumers $165, compared to buying each item separately. The Black Friday Playstation 3 bundle is expected to go for around $250 (maybe even lower considering its being released on Black Friday or maybe with a gift card with purchase) on November 25th.

We all know rumors are rumors but we’re confident that both Sony and Microsoft will release these products and features during or around Black Friday 2011. We’re excited this year that both Sony and Microsoft are taking advantage of the busiest shopping day of the year. We’ll keep an eye out and will update this post once we hear any confirmation on feature and product releases from Sony and/or Microsoft.
