All right, folks, as if that Apple Rumor Salt Lick hadn’t already seen enough use over the last six months, it’s time to pull that big old block of rock salt out once again for new word on the MacBook Pro line of laptops. Seems that they might be getting a few mechanical tweaks just in time for the holiday shopping frenzy.
Going out to the Apple Store to check out the various products revealed references to something called the MacBook Pro Memory Model, and the references are still there as of this printing. Even have a screenshot located directly above. Anyway, while no one’s quite sure just what’s going to be in the MacBook Pro Memory Model, we do have a date they’re expecting to ship, as the listings point to November.
What’s really rather odd is that there are two of them, and both go to the same page, a page that reads, somewhat ironically, page not found. My guess at that point is that the MacBook Pro Memory Model will come in 15 and 17 inch screen sizes, though that’s strictly a guess at this stage of the game. Of course, there’s also a line of thought that says they’re not laptops at all, but rather, components. Macbook Pro memory, model something or other, essentially larger RAM packages or the like that comes in two different sizes.
And while either of those approaches makes sense viscerally, it’s impossible to forget at this time of year that Black Friday deals are set to land soon; some are even making an early appearance as our own Chris Smith revealed yesterday. So which will it be? We’ll have to wait a couple weeks to see just which line of thought actually bears out when the MacBook Pro Memory Models start shipping in November.
But that doesn’t stop us from speculating! Do you think we’re looking at new components here or rather a full new refresh to the MacBook Pro line? Either way, we want to know what you think, so head on down to the comments section below and tell us what you think!
